Understanding Behavior
It is common for us to perceive undesirable behaviors as disobedience. However, it is essential for us to recognize and understand that dogs do not operate according to a moral framework as humans do. Instead, most of their behavior is driven, primarily, by instinctual survival and genetic codes. This perspective allows us to see our dogs not as disobedient companions, but as animals navigating our world in the best way they know how. Understanding this perspective is crucial when addressing and managing ‘problem behavior’ as it allows us to look beyond the problem and identify the underlying motivations for their actions. Consequently we can approach their behavior with greater empathy and insight and implement more effective training and behavioral strategies that cater both to their natural tendencies and our social needs.
PUPPIES
My private in-your-home puppy training starts out as a 5 session package that covers everything puppy: potty training essentials, nipping and biting, jumping up, destructive chewing, confinement and supervision.

This is a great option for puppies that are too young to attend group training. The package also covers and troubleshoots many natural puppy behaviors that cannot be addressed in a group class.
PET PARENTS WITH COMPLICATED OR EVER-CHANGING SCHEDULES
If you have a schedule that changes frequently, this might be the program for you. Sessions are scheduled according to your schedule and your pup’s learning process and practice needs.

During the course I will provide and direct you to the best, most appropriate enrichment sources for your specific puppy, taking into consideration breed, age, and living environment.

IN-PERSON CONSULTING
Each behavior consulting package is designed to offer individualized support for you and your dog through a multi-stage process. We begin with:
STAGE 1: Behavior Analysis where I gather detailed information about your dog’s health, environment, social habits, triggers and any potential causes of the behavior. This helps us understand the full picture before moving forward.
STAGE 2: Behavior Report with Management Strategies provides you with practical, immediate solutions tailored to your home and lifestyle. These strategies aim to change your dog’s environment in ways that reduce stress and risk while we work towards long term change - some may be temporary, others more permanent depending on your specific needs.
STAGE 3: Training and Behavior Modification Plan focuses on Implementing step-by-step training protocols that help your dog learn new patterns of behavior over time. Throughout the process, you’ll receive ongoing support, adjustments to the plan as needed, and guidance to help both you and your dog succeed together.

VIRTUAL CONSULTING
Virtual behavior consulting is a highly effective option for dogs who struggle with fear, anxiety, or aggression. Addressing these issues without the added stress of a stranger entering the home can make the process more comfortable and productive for your dog.
Just like my in-person program, my virtual process is designed to be thorough and as supportive as possible.
STEP 1 reach out via my contact form with a brief description of your dog’s presenting behavior
STEP 2 involves sending at least four short videos that show the problem behavior in your dog’s natural environment.
STEP 3. In this step we meet virtually for a comprehensive behavior analysis.
STEP 4 includes guided training exercises that you’ll practice, film, and send in for review.
STEP 5 we meet again via video call so I can provide direct feedback, adjust your plan if necessary and continue supporting your progress.
With today’s technology, I can even join you and your dog virtually during real-life outings and coach you through training in real-time as you navigate everyday situations and encounter real-world triggers.
